Santa Baby!

'Tis the Season! It's hard to believe we're almost at the end of 2011, but December is nearly upon us!

After an interesting traveling adventure today (more on that in a later post!), I decided to take some time to unwind and relax and do a little online perusing! On the (1st) trip to the airport today, my Mom was inquiring about what I might want for Christmas. She requested a list, so I figured I'd go all out and include pictures and *gasp* helpful links!

This year, I'd appreciate if Santa left these things under the tree!

1. Saucy gray boots, preferably tall, preferably flat, and preferably leather, like these!
(I originally found these at Kohls, but found them cheaper here!)

2. A fun, glitzy "big girl" watch. I searched and searched, and my heart fell in love with this Fossil Imogene Stainless Steel Watch in Gold Tone. It's got the right balance of gold and silver, with accents of diamond, and also pearl! It's bound to go with ANY outfit!
(Although I first found it on Macy's website, I found it even cheaper online at Amazon.com!)

3. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. I was going to ask for both parts, but in my search online, I found Part 1 for SUPER cheap, with free shipping, and I could use my Cash Back reward points from Discover, so I indulged a little! So now I'm asking Santa for just Part 2, please! Then my collection will be complete! =)

4. A sparkly sweater! I searched and searched and couldn't find many in the style I was looking for, but eventually found this in black. While I'd prefer a silver sweater over any other color, I still think the black is classy!
5. When all else fails, $$$ contributions to my UWP Journey! =)

Oh! And it'd be SUPER neat if Santa could bring me this boy for Christmas, but I'm guessing that can't happen =(

Now if only my loving parents and brother and sister-in-law would make me explicit Christmas lists! Then my life would be oh-so-merry!
Here's to having a very, merry holiday season and surviving the last chunk of school!!!

Halloween Fun!

(I adore this movie and its soundtrack! And how cool is this light design?)

We had a Halloween party at the house this year! It was fun! Naturally, everyone had to wear a costume! Here are all the housemates!
C
Beth, the witch, Kristin, some rocker guy's girlfriend- I can't remember haha!
Me, Hobbes, Hope, a lady pirate, and Cailin, Daphne from Scooby-Doo.

Dustin and I had planned our Calvin and Hobbes costume for last Halloween, but then realized we didn't have an occasion to wear them! So, it was great that we could use them this year!

For those not familiar with the comic, here's a comparison!

Lindsay and Ariel showed up at the Mozarts, so we felt compelled to take a "couples" picture! haha

I found a recipe on The Sweet Adventures of Sugar Belle weeks back that I'd been wanting to try! They were the cutest little candy corn cookies, so I figured I'd make them for our party! They were a multi-step process, but pretty easy to do! The recipe and directions can be found here.

I thought the dough looked a lot like bacon! haha. But this was after layering the dough in the bread pan and letting it chill. I think if I make these again I'd almost double the recipe. I didn't have enough dough to make each layer prominent enough for my liking!

Cut them and bake them
And to finish them off and make them truly look like candy corns, you dip them in yellow chocolate melts! Yummy!

Adelphian Tradition on 10/31: Wear your costume to choir! Yay folks who dressed up!

It was fun being in a house this year and having some cute little trick-or-treaters! Ah, the childhood memories! Love it!

Happy Halloween, everyone! Now onto November and Turkey Time! =)

Birthday Bliss and Blech!

I turned 22 last weekend! Huzzah! I've always loved the fact that my birthday is exactly one week before Halloween! It allows me extra time to celebrate during my favorite time of year! =)

My birthday weekend was a success!
First, Dustin and I saw one of our favorite artists, Allen Stone, perform in Seattle. We even got to meet him! (Look him up...seriously! He's amazing! allenstone.net)

The next day we carved the pumpkins we picked in Yakima!
Naturally, I designed an Up With People pumpkin! I'm just too excited!

Then it was time to go to see the Death Cab for Cutie concert. Dustin bought me tickets for my birthday present! =) He also treated me to a delicious dinner and dessert at The Cheesecake Factory (one of my favorite restaurants!) This is the pose he struck when I tried taking his picture!
Gotta love him!

Death Cab was awesome. And they played my most favorite song, Transatlanticism, very last! What a great way to end the show!

The next night I celebrated with some friends in Tacoma! We went out to Red Robin, per usual tradition since being at UPS!

I was super sick on my actual birthday, both with corneal abrasions in my right eye and the black plague (ha- right!)...but what else is new? I'm always sick on my birthday! Dustin made it better by bringing me flowers from my parents, our favorite chocolate pie, and a fun surprise book! I only get to look at a page a week until Christmas! Eventually the book will tell me what my Christmas present is! What a sneaky little devil!

A week later, I was treated to a home-cooked birthday dinner by Dustin and Dylan's wonderful grandma, Mary. It's so great having her in town!

Even though I was super sick on the actual day, it was still a great extended birthday celebration stretching from before my birthday to a week after! Fun! Here's to the exciting year of being 22!
